Santa Catalina Residence Hall Fire Incident
Pamela Scott, Residential & Community Living, and Elizabeth (Lizzie) Soriano, Portola Dining Commons, were nominated for a Getman award. In honor of the former UCSB Dean of Student Residents, Margaret T. Getman, the annual Getman award recognizes university staff and faculty that have demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to the general growth and development of students and the quality of student life.

The Return of Summer Conferences
Have you noticed something missing these past two summers? Perhaps the youthful exuberance of sports and leadership camps, of outreach programs experiencing our beautiful campus for the first time, and the buzz of visiting scholars sharing their research? We are pleased to report that campus leadership has approved a full return of our summer conference operations!
Prospective Gauchos Spend the Day with Us
It was a warm sunny morning, and the HDAE team made up of staff and student workers arrived early to help stage the first in-person Housing Fair since 2019! The Fair was part of UCSB’s Open House 2022, an event that invited tens of thousands of students and their families to experience our beautiful campus in-person.
Transitioning Back to Normalcy
Over the past two years, COVID-19 has changed the way we work and live. Because of campus community members' high vaccination rate coupled with boosters, we now have the opportunity to transition back to normalcy this summer.
