San Joaquin Villages Earns LEED Neighborhood Development GOLD!
With the support of the engineer of record on the San Joaquin Villages (SJV) project (Buro Happold), HDAE completed the LEED for Neighborhood Development (ND) application process and is proud to announce that the community has been awarded a GOLD rating by the US Green Building Council (USGBC). This is a great accomplishment for UCSB and continues to show the commitment to sustainability for the division and campus.
Spring Quarter is off to a good start!
While there are many details still being finalized, I want to share with you some of the highlights of what’s been happening this spring quarter and what we’re working on for this summer.

The Sierra Madre, San Joaquín, Santa Ynez, El Dorado, and Westgate communities saw a return to livelier times as masked residents chatted with one another (at a safe distance) while checking in and picking up their keys.
Energy, Intelligence & Determination: Congratulations Teresa on Your Achievements!
Not too long ago, Residential Operations hired someone with an incredible story, an amazing work ethic, a kindhearted personality, and tremendous potential. This person is Teresa Curiel.
Teresa was born in Mexico and immigrated to the United States. She experienced many struggles that she had to overcome to get here, and has conquered many obstacles here including learning another language and adapting to a new country outside of her home.
