HDAE Highlights
Micro-articles about Our Staff & Communities
During its temporary closure, The Club & Guest House took the opportunity to enhance its public spaces with large-scale wall art purchased before the pandemic. The project goal was twofold: 1) harken back to the days when the former Faculty Club hosted rotating art exhibitions on its walls and 2) partner with HDAE in their efforts to create warm and welcoming atmospheres by incorporating arts and culture. Big thanks to the Residential Operations team who prepped and painted the walls and arranged and installed the dynamic displays. Enjoy a teaser of one of the design elements and bonus points if you recognize the area!

They also mailed out 115+ copies of the title to fulfill faculty requests. This marks the 15th year the Campus Store has collaborated with the Library and its very successful UCSB Reads Program!

R&CL’s Deejay Johnson, Amber McNeil and Isheeta Rahman are a part of a ‘Celebration Committee’ that is providing opportunities to foster joy, awareness, curiosity and, of course, fun throughout the year! Their goal is to acknowledge and celebrate as many of the yearly celebrations as they can. February was Black History Month and in addition to planning some great events, they created graphics of some fascinating folks from Santa Barbara’s history. Thank you to the talented and caring R&CL team members for researching, compiling and promoting such inspiring and interesting stories. Stay tuned for "Women's HerStory Month" in the next issue of The Compass.
