Tell Us What You Think! Take the Employee Engagement Survey.

In late July we will be launching an employee engagement survey in conjunction with the Human Resources consulting firm McLean & Co. We’ll be asking questions based upon what we’re doing well, as well as soliciting ideas for improvements. Everyone will get a unique code to respond to the survey (which is available in English and Spanish), and all responses will be confidential with the McLean group, who will then provide us overviews by area. Some of the sample open-ended questions we’ll be asking include:

  1. If you could change one thing to make your job better, what would it be and how would you do it?
  2. If you could offer your manager one piece of advice to do their job better, what would it be?
  3. If you could change one thing to make this organization better, what would it be and how would you do it?
  4. What does this organization do particularly well that should be continued?

The survey will run for two weeks and we should have the overall report by the end of August, the results of which will be shared with you. Why an employee engagement survey you might ask? Well, for several reasons: it is a global organizational best-practice. When you start to measure things they tend to improve, and probably most importantly, people appreciate being asked. We have a lot of great colleagues with a lot of great insights and feedback, and we want to collectively have a chance to reflect on what’s going well and what we can improve. Thank you in advance for participating, and please feel free to email me at lslavid@housing.ucsb.edu if you have any questions.
