UCSB is School of the Year!
RHA Wins Highest Honor at PACURH Regional Business Conference
The UCSB Residential Housing Association (RHA) was awarded the title of ‘School of the Year’ at the PACURH (Pacific Affiliate of College and University Residence Halls) Regional Business Conference. This is one of the highest honors that an institution can be awarded! It recognizes the outstanding achievements by RHA and housing, as well as contributions on the regional and national level.
PACURH oversees all of the affiliated residential halls, which includes fifty schools spread out over five states (California, Washington, Oregon, Alaska, and Hawaii) and Canada. UCSB submitted a bid for it at the Regional Business Conference and won, which was a huge accomplishment as RHA is now fully recognized on a regional level for our accomplishments.
Austin Beaart chaired the bid committee, which consisted of both RHA and NRHH (National Residence Hall Honorary) members, including Elmer Flores, Michelle Macrohon, Eric Chen, Joshua Salazar, Juan M. Perez Tejada, Yoon Ji Lee, Sarah Vilardo, Vicky Le, Ciara Wong, Ricky Uribe, and Addison Luria-Roberson.
Our bid included 30 pages of everything from the diversity of our programming to the sustainability of our campus. In discussing the best elements of UCSB, we focused on RHA's wide berth of programming and the unique aspects of UCSB. Go Gauchos!
