Spread the word: HDAE is looking for students to join our team!

Students are at the center of what we do in HDAE, and our approximately 1800 student employees are the backbone of our operations. Student employees assist us in all areas: in our offices, our Residence and Dining Halls, our retail outlets, etc. They answer phones, stock shelves, set up events, direct traffic, and provide excellent service to our customers. This is a win-win situation! Students earn a paycheck and learn valuable career skills close to where they live, while HDAE has an excellent pool of part-time employees.

As the campus starts to reopen, HDAE is working to rebuild its student workforce. Behind the scenes, many talented staff are working hard to get the word out about our open student positions:

• Three different email “blasts” were sent this summer. Two by Career Services to all registered students with an emphasis on advertising our many HDAE departments and job opportunities, and one from Campus Dining to all future housing residents. 
• A graphic was shared on various social media channels directing interested students to the HDAE website with a list of our current student positions. 
• Coming up there is an opportunity to participate in UCSB Career Services' On-Campus Job Fair happening on Tuesday, September 21 with the main event at 10a and Q&A Sessions starting at 11:30am. This will be a virtual hiring event exclusively for on-campus opportunities via Zoom. Registration for this event closes on September 10 at 5pm so don’t delay, register today! Departments will have a few minutes to introduce themselves, share briefly about the opportunities they have available, and provide students with information on how to apply. Following the Main Event each department will host a one-hour Zoom meeting to facilitate Q&A sessions. Questions? Email careerevents@sa.ucsb.edu.
