Laundry Like Home
Residential Operations Has Installed New Laundry Equipment in Campus Housing.
Much like doing laundry at home, our residents can now use the machines without a payment module. In addition to not having to pay for this service per load or cycle, our residents can see which machines are available for use in their residential communities by downloading the SpeedQueen application, as well as benefit from other built-in user experience options.
Additionally, our in-house maintenance staff can better service the equipment for repairs or replacements, reducing downtime for residents. As a result of this equipment upgrade, we look forward to bringing expanded WiFi capability and speed to our residential community laundry rooms.
The laundry room makeover also provided an opportunity to refresh the wall art. In the Family Student Housing Apartments, Eric Zobel (retired) donated illustrations from his personal stock of creative assets to enhance the wall space. By blending art with the natural sciences, Eric's Santa Barbara area Wildlife and Sealife display provides education through an accessible medium; very impressive!
On campus, university photographer Matt Perko contributed to the refresh in the Carrillo laundry room by providing a full-size panoramic of Campus Point at low tide. Visitors can experience nature through the visual arts by bringing the outdoors inside. Stop by and get inspired!
