Micro-articles about Our Staff & Communities

Ortega Dining Commons had a salsa showdown during lunch on October 11. Five bowls of yummy salsa were set up with homemade tortilla chips, and customers voted for their top three favorites. First place went to Martin Valdez for his “Salsa San Martin”, second place went to Luz Pizano for her “Salsa Teocaltiche”, and third place went to Juan Benavides for his “Salsa Jalisco.” All five salsas will be served throughout the year at the Ortega Salad Bar. Congratulations to the winners!

We love the new look of our compactors! They received a facelift with a new paint job and decals designed by Mandy Yoshida of the MarCom Team. Now, the entire community will be reminded of UCSB’s sustainability efforts when they see Marborg vehicles on the road towing the compost bins to and from their facilities.
