IT’S BABY SEASON! Sara Engebrits, Director of Marketing & Membership for The Club & Guest House, welcomed Otis James Engebrits late Monday, March 4. He was a not-so-little gent at 9lb, 9oz (pictured below left)..Accounting Manager at the UCSB Campus Store, Rachel Reynolds, gave birth to a baby girl on December 18. Amelia Harper Reynolds was 5lb 11oz and 18” long. Both mom and baby are happy and healthy…Tom Spiva's baby Charlie was born on January 6. Tom is the Manager of Systems and Operations for University & Community Housing Services…Julia Graham (pictured below right) joined Brian Graham’s family on March 3. At birth Julia weighed in at 9lb 5oz. Brian is the Director of Residential Operations. Please join us in congratulating everyone on their new family member!

CONGRATULATIONS! Assistant Production Manager at Carrillo Dining Commons, Bryan Aceves, was recognized as a "Rising Star" by Food Service Director magazine...Gary Lawrence & Hugo Rios (aka “United UCen”) took 2nd place in the United Way Bean Bag Toss Tournament...Angelica Diaz, Conference Manager, and new husband Saul tied the knot this past December in a very small ceremony at St. Mark's Church in IV and dinner at the Santa Barbara Natural History Museum, followed by a Harry Potter themed dance party…Mandy Yoshida of HDAE's MarCom Team collaborated with Residential Dining staff to create a video showcasing the new Portola Dining Commons. It was featured at the MenuDirections conference prior to dining staff being presented with a plaque in recognition of being the Foodservice Operation of the Month for May 2018...HDAE Staff recently celebrated the 10th birthday of San Clemente Villages. Did you know? San Clemente is a showcase of sustainable practice and is double certified LEED* Gold (Existing Buildings Operations & Maintenance in 2012 and New Construction in 2009). Is is the largest university apartment complex in the country to have this distinction. *Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design is a rating system developed by the U.S. Green Building Council.
