CONGRATULATIONS! A few HDAE Team Members’ families have grown: Bobby Zavala of Business & Financial Planning is one happy dad! Baby Emma was born with a smile on her face on June 30, 2021. She was 6.1 lbs and 18.5 inches… and Megan Yoskowitz of Special Events Catering welcomed Harrison Jay Yoskowitz to her family on July 21, 2021. Everyone is doing great!

tree roots on maintenance trailerShout out to the Residential Operations Team! They are getting the job done as usual. As part of routine preventative maintenance and preparations for Fall Move-In, the main sewer lines across the residence halls and apartments are jetted and cleaned. Pictured are tree roots that were removed from the San Miguel sewer main, and the Operations Service Center said it best... "Eeeeeekkk... we're very glad this photo isn't from Sunday night after move-in weekend!" The Residential Operations Team is also continuing to adapt to the Regents Policy 5402/AFSCME Article 5 and the UC's commitment to insourcing Covered Services to the fullest extent possible. The Housekeeping Team is expanding their service capacity by purchasing a new dedicated van with integrated carpet cleaning equipment. This is something our partners in TPS and Facilities Management have been incredibly helpful with in determining the right equipment and supplies. Here’s a picture of the van set-up that is being purchased, as well as the talented and caring staff that participated in the demonstration and training!

Fun Fact: The Campus Store has been busy! They filled 26,912 online orders in the last fiscal year and donated $2,600 to the United Way. The money was a donation from Jostens on behalf of graduating students — one dollar was given for every bachelor gown sold. Photo: a graduating Gaucho from June 2021.
