Welcome to Fall Quarter, 2022!

The year is off to a terrific start! It was great to resume Town Hall meetings after more than two years. The campus is buzzing with activity and it was a joy to see you all again. We are finally back to some normalcy.

As I mentioned at the Town Hall Meeting, our organization is constantly evolving and we need to be smart about what we do. During the meeting, I addressed the September 9 letter that was emailed to all of you regarding the early stages of our reorganization plan. We are currently exploring best and next practices, and asking ourselves what steps we need to take to prepare for the future. With anticipated growth, we will be increasing our services tremendously. The work we all do is important, and we are working diligently to fill openings and gradually rebuild our student and full-time staff teams. Please tell your friends and neighbors to apply for positions within HDAE! We are also looking at bringing in a senior executive director and shifting a few current directors and their teams to areas within HDAE that more closely align with their functional responsibilities. Be on the lookout for more information about the reorganization in future Compass newsletters and on our HomeBase intranet

I am grateful for your contributions to our incredible university, and that we’re now out of the emergency phase of the pandemic. However, as temperatures drop COVID infection rates may increase. Please continue to be safe and reduce your risk: get a bivalent booster, wear a mask, wash your hands and stay home if you’re sick. Be well and stay safe!
