CONGRATULATIONS to the COVID Support Team for being recognized with the William J. Villa Service to Students Award… to Jenn Ja Birchim for being recognized with the Margaret T. Getman Service to Students Award… and to Brian Shively for receiving a Staff Citation of Excellence. HDAE has always played a key role in keeping the campus moving. These extraordinary times are no different. Kudos to everyone for answering the call with your ability to adapt to a variety of situations with energy, enthusiasm and professionalism!

Wild animals continue to enjoy the freedom of a quieter campus. Eriko MacDonald spotted Jet the chipmunk outside of Ortega Dining Commons. He’s very speedy, hence his name.  

The murals in the San Nicolas Residence Hall stairwell continue to multiply! This vertical art gallery is part of the Take the Stairs campaign. The stairwell walls are a perfect backdrop for murals that liven up San Nicolas and provide instagrammable walls for students to take selfies, all while burning calories and saving energy. What's New In Transportation & Parking Services:

The Park Mobile app is now available for visitors parking on the UCSB campus. The free app makes it easy to find and pay for parking through your phone. You can even extend your time through the app and avoid running back to feed the pay machine. Visitors can purchase parking by downloading the app and registering. The lots where Park Mobile parking is available will have a zone number prominently posted in the lot. Simply type in the zone and select the number of hours you wish to park and pay.  

The UCSB ePermit system is launching July 1 — your license plate will be your parking permit! When read, the characters on your plate are automatically matched against the parking database to verify a valid permit for the lot location. The new system will provide permit holders with more flexibility in their parking options. UCSB ePermits also make it easier for staff and faculty to drive multiple vehicles without having to remember to move a physical permit (one permit may cover multiple vehicles on your account, but only one vehicle may be parked on campus at any given time.) Stay tuned for a more in-depth email coming out soon!

FAREWELL: During the COVID-19 pandemic, in-person workplace goodbye celebrations are another casualty, so The Compass would like to acknowledge the following HDAE team members who are retiring.
